Congratulations to the eight Emanuel pupils who were selected to represent Wandsworth Borough at the London Youth Games Cross-Country at Parliament Hill.

It was a tough day with large competitive fields of runners and a number of our athletes were running as the youngest in their age groups. The pick of our runners were Georgie Clark (U17, fifth place) and Daniel Benton (U17, 13th place) who gave fantastic performances and should be looking forward to the London Championships in February where they have the chance to qualify for the English Schools’ Cross-Country.

Our other athletes were Izzy Perry (U13, 27th place), Harry Bell (U15, 84th place), Fleur Todd-Warmoth (U15, 29th place), Ed Newton (U17, 74th place) and Maddy Kitchen (U17, 63rd place). They all helped the borough to some outstanding team results: U13 Girls – 4th place, U15 Girls – 4th place, U15 Boys – 8th place, U17 Girls – bronze, U17 Boys – 5th place, Overall Girls – bronze and Overall Boys – 4th place.

Well done all.

Paul King (Head of Athletics & Cross Country)
