We would like to thank the OEs who attended our reunion event on Saturday 15 June. Even though we had to dodge the heavy showers, everybody had a lovely time.
The day started with a look around the pop-up archive display in the junior library, with the early arrivals also watching some of the block cricket fixture against Alleyn’s School.
We always enjoy it when OEs spot themselves in our displays and Harry Waddingham was delighted to see himself in a rugby photograph from the 1950s.
Many others enjoyed having their memory jogged by our range of school ties.
Everybody also enjoyed their welcome from headmaster Robert Milne, who commented on the great affection many of the alumni have for their old school.
The tours showed the school in “full swing”, with the parent choir in the concert hall and the sports hall being used for cricket net practice, before taking in the chapel and various other classrooms.
It was a pleasure to catch up with OEs who regularly attend our functions, meet others with whom we have been in regular email contact, as well as those alumni attending for the first time. Visitors were very complimentary about our permanent school archive and much of this is due to the generosity of the OE community.
We would like to thank Martin Rickman for donating his CCF spoon, which he was awarded for winning a shooting competition for Marlborough House.
