This week we held both our senior and junior literary house competitions, with the junior section being particularly keenly contested with most houses fielding numerous substitutes.

Howe were triumphant in the senior section, with Esme Glen, who is a veteran of the 2015 Kids’ Lit team which won the South London Heat and represented Emanuel in the UK finals, holding off a spirited challenge from Marlborough, which featured a strong performance from Oliver Hill. In the decade I have been running quizzes at Emanuel, Esme must rank as our best ever played and rightfully deserves the title ‘Emanuel Quiz Queen’!

The junior event was unbelievably exciting with Lyons holding off a very spirited challenge from Clyde who finished second. There are some incredibly strong quiz players in the Lower School and we hope this leads to a strong performance in the annual Kids’ Lit Quiz which we are currently practising for.
