We are moving through the three-phase expansion and enhancement of our 14-acre off site sports ground in Raynes Park (Blagdons). In September, 2023 the first phase was complete when we opened our new all weather pitch and cricket nets.

The all weather pitch allows us to offer a broader range of co-educational sport with provision for hockey, netball, tennis, and football. Cricket, football and rugby will also be played on the new square and existing grass pitches. The new facilities give us a home ground for girls’ hockey and, along with our outstanding facilities at school and in Barnes (boat house), demonstrate our commitment to sports, wellbeing and fitness for our pupils and the wider community.

Three new hard courts for netball and tennis have recently been completed. They will be used for our games programme, friendly fixtures and lower school LTA tournament preparation to enhance participation and performance.

Three hybrid cricket pitches have also been laid, meaning that boys and girls of all ages and abilities can play cricket at our off site grounds during the summer. The new pitches are more durable and allow for faster grass recovery time.

The next phase is the redevelopment of the pavilion, subject to planning permission. With a greater number of spectators and the increasing use of the space, an improved pavilion will be a fantastic space for spectators and pupils to enjoy team spirit and refreshments. The space will also be used as an event venue.

Start date: April 2022
