Today, we went to St Paul’s Cathedral with Christ Church Primary School. At the start of the day out guide talked about the Crypt and the amazing mosaics. We went to an amazing part of the cathedral which is off limits to the public unless a guide shows you. Inside, the roof had amazing mosaics which spread across the rood and told a separate story. Later on, we had a chance to make mosaics out of glass.

Lastly (my favourite part), we walked up 500 stairs to the top. It was very scary but the view was amazing!

Today, we went to St Paul’s Cathedral and it was amazing. We learnt so much. We went to the top of the dome. It was really windy and wet but the view was amazing. We had to climb 536 steps to get to the top. When we got to the top the stairs were so steep and the walls were so thin. The cathedral was the 5th to be built and the 4th one was much bigger than the one now but it got burned down during the fire of London. The 5th cathedral took 35 years to build and it took 12 years to put on all of the mosaic tiles. We learnt how there are 6 million tiles in the main mosaics on the ceilings. We even got to make our own mosaics. Overall this enrichment day was really fun and I think everyone enjoyed it.
