In the face of increasing numbers of applicants from across the UK and beyond, and with reports in the media suggesting that contextual admissions processes may be further adding to the challenges of Oxbridge entry for independent school pupils, we are delighted to report an outstanding year for Oxbridge offers, with just under 60% of our applicants achieving places. Tom (History and Politics, Merton), Eve (Chemistry, Worcester), Daria (Modern and Middle Eastern Languages, Wadham), Freya (Chemistry, New), Molly (English, Lincoln), Defne (PPE, Lincoln), and Hilla (English, Balliol) have places at Oxford for 2023, whilst places at Cambridge were won by Lucy (Maths, Pembroke), Esme (Maths, Newnham) and Maddie (Psychological and Behavioural Sciences, Newnham).  A huge amount of work went into the arduous application process, and all of those who applied must be congratulated for the passion and resilience they have shown.

At the time of writing, pupils in the upper sixth as a whole have made 628 applications to universities through UCAS and received 372 offers, with more coming in by the day. At present, 67% of the offers are from Russell Group institutions, with Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Leeds, Bristol and Exeter the top five in terms of number of offers received so far.

Beyond the UK, pupils have achieved places so far at Boston University and the University of Melbourne, with applications to other institutions in Italy, America and Australia underway. We wish all of our pupils great success with this next exciting stage in their lives, and look forward to supporting a new cohort of L6 applicants, many of whom attended a packed Higher Education and Careers Convention last Saturday.
