In 1594, Lady Anne Dacre established Emanuel School with a bequest of £300 to provide an education for 10 boys and 10 girls. From its foundation, legacies have played a major role in the development of the school and the generosity of our supporters is fundamental to our future.
With as little as one sentence of bequest language in your will, you can help us provide a life-changing education to young people who would not be able to attend the school without financial assistance.
Legacies also help us to develop and preserve our school buildings, providing the very best facilities and learning opportunities for our pupils – both now and in the years to come.

The Emanuel School General Charitable Trust is a registered charity (charity number 296273) and so legacy gifts are exempt from UK inheritance and capital gains taxes.
Providing a written pledge to the school allows us to ensure your wishes are met, and appropriate thanks and recognition can be made to you and your family.
A legacy gift of just 1% will allow your family to be cared for, and make a huge difference to a young person’s education.
