On Tuesday 14 September Emanuel Art Staff took Year 11 GCSE art students to Tate Britain. These trips are extremely useful for gathering drawn and photographic information in their coursework sketchbooks.  The research will go on to inspire the students’ own art work.

While there we visited the Vorticist, Giacometti and Henry Moore displays as well as Hew Locke’s magnificent installation which fills the entire length of the Duveen Galleries.  We also visited Cornelia Parker’s inspiring exhibition, her work examines past and present themes through installation, film, photogravure and sound.  One of our students was lucky enough to meet and chat to Cornelia Parker who happened to be there at the same time!

The trip was very productive, our students worked hard and made some lovely work during the day.
