The Year 9 Book Club, which formed in lockdown, continues to discuss and challenge a mixture of YA and adult fiction. This week the group discussed The Bunker Diary and chose their next book: After the Fire by Will Hill.

Katie H said: “I have really enjoyed this book club and I definitely recommend joining it. It is relaxed but we also get into some quite intellectual discussions: for example, this week we read The Bunker Diary and got into some really interesting morality discussions. I have loved books all my life and I really like being able to debate and confer over them. It is also a chance to read genres I don’t typically read.”

If you’re in Year 9 and enjoy reading or need something to motivate you to start reading again, read After the Fire and come along to our next meeting at 12pm in M101 on Wednesday 23rd June.

Happy Reading!
