On the 4th to the 5th of March we took part in a 24 hour readathon to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. We started at 5:00 on Saturday and ended at 5:00 on Sunday. To stay awake we drank lots of coke and ate lots of sweets, every hour we also sang Buffalo Soldier by Bob Marley to help wake us up. When we felt tired we would play loud rock music like Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi. Effie read 4 ½ books, Emilie and Mia read 5 ½ books.

Effie read Lyra’s Oxford by Phillip Paulman, Bombs on Aunt Dainty by Judith Kerr, This Woven kingdom by Tahereh Mafi, No Country by Patrice Aggs & Joe Brady and got halfway through Sweet Black Waves by Kristina Perez.

Mia read Boys Don’t Cry by Malorie Blackman, Frost Hollow Hall by Emma Carrol, No Country by Patrice Aggs & Joe Brady, Death Sets Sail by Robin Stevens, The girl who Walked on Air by Emma Carrol and got halfway through The Phantom Tolbooth by Norton Juster.

Emilie read The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber, The Cats We Meet Along the Way by Nadia Mikail, Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson, The Silver Chain by Jion Sheibani, Lyra’s Oxford by Phillip Paulman and got halfway through the Cruel Prince.

Although we are all exhausted it was really fun and we hope to do another in the future!
