Covid-19 has made it more challenging than ever for parents to provide regular nutritious meals for their families. With your help, Emanuel’s catering team and Emanuel staff food delivery volunteers, we continue to deliver easy to prepare meals-in-a-bag to families in need of support at our partner primary schools.
As of this week, we have delivered 3,888 meals to nearly 1,000 families in our local area. We are now delivering to seven partner primary schools at least one day per week including Chesterton, Christ Church, Falconbrook, Fulham, Goldfinch, Griffin (a new addition) and Sulivan Primaries.
Each meal-in-a-bag includes a recipe card for dishes such as caponata pasta and chickpea curry, and the necessary ingredients include lentils, kidney beans, chickpeas, fresh vegetables, pasta, rice and potatoes. In addition, we provide fresh fruit and some of our catering department’s delicious cake.
Feedback from parents has been really positive. A Griffin Primary parent reported that she is really impressed with the recipes and has enjoyed making them with her children. She wanted to make sure the Head thanked us all for our efforts on her behalf.
Thanks to your support, we will continue our deliveries to the families who need our help until the end of term.
