As of this week, we have delivered almost 3000 meals to over 700 families in need of our support at our local primary schools. We are continuing to deliver to six of our partner schools – Chesterton, Christ Church, Falconbrook, Fulham, Goldfinch and Sulivan Primaries.
With your help, our amazing catering team and the fabulous support of our Emanuel staff food delivery volunteers, we are now providing families with a meal-in-a-bag which gives them flexibility to prepare their meals when most needed. This option also has the unexpected benefit of providing parents with an opportunity to cook with their children. Colette Morris, Christ Church Primary’s head teacher, stated: “The meal kits have been received really well with pupils excited about helping their parent to cook.”

The food was delicious and the children look forward to it each week.
Each meal-in-a-bag includes a recipe card for dishes such as caponata pasta and chickpea curry, with the necessary ingredients including lentils, kidney beans, chickpeas, fresh vegetables, pasta, rice and potatoes. In addition, we provide fresh fruit and some of our catering department’s delicious cake.

The hot meals and the recent meal-in-a-bag deliveries have been very well received by our partner school families. Thanks to your support, we plan to continue our deliveries to the families who need our help until the end of term.
It has been so nice to have something different to eat.
