Over the Christmas break, the Emanuel ski team travelled to Les Deux Alpes for a week of ski training and racing at the Independent Schools Ski Championships.

We all improved massively from last year’s trip and incredibly Meg Radford and Etienne Boles won silver medals in their age categories in the Giant Slalom event. The trip was a brilliant opportunity to meet and get to know people from other year groups who we wouldn’t have met otherwise.

The unlucky weather meant that on two days we couldn’t go up the mountains, but this didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves in the snow that had fallen on the day we arrived. We enjoyed the activities set up for us by the Halsbury ski team including snow games, sledging, and laser tag. We even had our own Emanuel race on ice, when we hit the ice rink for a spin one evening.

Mr House and Miss Fitzgibbon were amazing throughout the trip; constantly looking out for us and cheering us on during the races. I made some great memories on the trip and hope to return next year.
