71 pupils raced across the Friday, Saturday & Sunday of half term at Dorney Lake.
We were so delighted to see five Emanuel senior crews make A finals. The J16 Girls coxed four won the B final , the J15 Girls B quad came 2nd in the B final.
Crew of the day was Isaac (Head boy) and Sam (Year 12) who won overall by 10 seconds. Sam and Isaac won the prestigious Nick Bevan Cup for Championship Coxless Pairs. This trophy was first presented by the Regatta Committee in 1973. It commemorates the illustrious coaching history of Nick Bevan at Shrewsbury, Shiplake and St. Edward’s. This is the first time since 1990 that the boys have won a championship event for Emanuel.
Special thank you to all the staff, including Mr Boret who stepped in as Equipment manager, Miss Hizzett and Miss Oates who ran the junior section of the boat club on Friday and Mr Gourevitch for his incredible long standing support and coaching.
Thanks also go to Miss Blaikie, without whom the girls’ top crews would not have achieved such brilliant results on the day!
