Out of an array of wonderful creative projects inspired by the myths of ancient Greece and Rome, four Year 7 Latin students were finalists in the national Ovid Competition run by the Cambridge Schools Classics Project.
Oscar, Sam, Dasha, and Lorenzo created projects which creatively retold the ancient myths of The Abduction of Persephone, Pandora’s Box, King Midas, and Echo and Narcissus.
Out of submissions from 75 schools, Dasha won the art category with a beautiful sculpture of a rose touched by King Midas turning to gold, and Lorenzo was runner-up in the performance category with a modern retelling of the myth of Echo, who falls in love with the handsome Narcissus, who in turn only love his own reflection.

The winning projects can be viewed online here, alongside the other finalist entries.
Congratulations to all involved!
