Saying hello to the world in French, Spanish and German
In the languages department, Year 6 pupils from our Primary Ambitions programme have enjoyed participating in taster sessions of French, Spanish and German.
We have started with our third school, Sellincourt Primary School, and the pupils come each week with enthusiasm and are eager to learn. We have covered a range of topics from greetings, colours and numbers in each language. The pupils have gained knowledge and have become confident in their speaking skills through repetition and oral practice. The Lower Sixth teachers have been excellent, finding ways to engage the pupils in creative games and activities, such as bingo, pass the bomb and Chinese whispers which are some of the pupils’ favourites. The teachers were quick to come back from any challenges they face in the lesson and have improved their organisation skills. We have received great feedback from the children saying they loved the lessons and the teachers too. We look forward to the rest of our programme with the pupils from Sellincourt Primary School.
