The Emanuel School Chess Club went online for the first time ever on Thursday 23rd April.
Players from Years 6 to Upper Sixth got involved in the Lichess platform. Although the games were only friendly, there was a competitive element; well done to Joe Barton who achieved the best score thanks to a competitive win against Dr Dancy.
The Lichess platform automatically selects opponents for people within the Emanuel School arena, matching players of similar ability as far as possible, so there is no need to be afraid. Lichess is also a great place to learn how to play, or how to play better, so if you are in need of a challenge for the lockdown, then learning chess could be for you.
Watch out for emails for next Thursday’s Chess Club, and I’ll see you there.
