The senior house chess competition was completed just before the school closed last week.

It was the final game of an exciting competition which resulted in an exceptionally rare dead heat after Rodney drew 2-2 with Howe in the key fixture.

Fittingly, the final match was played out by two of our top players (Joe and MacKenzie). Both Upper Sixth boys also played in all our school fixtures.

The final standings were:

  • 1st: Rodney 5 (+12) dead heat for first and second
  • 1st: Howe 4 (+12)
  • 3rd: Nelson 2 (+5)
  • 4th: Marlborough 0 (+3)
