This year’s outcomes, under the entirely unique system of teacher assessed grades (TAGS), concluded an academic journey for our leavers, the likes of which none of their predecessors could have imagined. We are tremendously pleased that through the collective efforts of the pupils, parents and teaching staff, our 2021 leavers have succeeded and made the very best of their ability, despite all of the academic and personal challenges in recent months.
Mr Milne, the headmaster, said, ‘More than any other year, we are absolutely delighted for our upper sixth pupils this summer. They have coped incredibly well with very trying circumstances, managing to achieve strong outcomes, ones which allow them to progress with their targeted academic ambitions. We are really pleased that the out-going upper sixth pupils have been aspirational in the courses applied for and shown the grit and ability to achieve those places across a range of highly competitive institutions and courses.
Through a series of adaptations, stoicism, sustained good humour and diligence, they have made the very best of the situation and each of our leavers ought to be incredibly proud of themselves. We also know that behind every young person is a team of teachers, tutors, parents and supporters- we thank everyone for the vital role played in recent months and look forward to celebrating together in early autumn.’
We wish all of our senior pupils every success and happiness as they move forward and into the exciting next stage of their life.
