We are incredibly proud of Sadie Soverall, former Drama Scholar and 2020 leaver, who stars in the live-action adaptation of ‘The Winx Saga’ and has made it into Netflix’s Top 5.
Sadie plays the fairy Beatrix in ‘The Winx Saga’ – a young adult drama fantasy in which a group of teens navigate rivalry, romance and supernatural studies at their magical boarding school Alfea. It is a loose, maturer adaptation on the children’s cartoon ‘Winx Club’, with the introduction of new villains and older protagonists. The initial six episodes launched in January and have been dubbed into 21 languages around the world.
During her time at Emanuel, Sadie appeared in many Drama productions, including Annie, The Producers, Twelfth Night and Made in Dagenham. She is one of a few young alumni who are appearing on our screen as of late, following in the footsteps of Tallulah Haddon (OE2014), who starred in Netflix’s Black Mirror, and Joe Quinn (OE2012), who has made waves on the BBC in Dickensian, Les Misérables and Strike, to name a few.
Upon release, ‘The Winx Saga’ shot straight to Netflix’s number one and remains in the top 5. Well done to Sadie and her fellow castmates on their success!
